Opening – Rotterdam District Court
On 15 January, the opening of my exhibition took place at the Rotterdam District Court.
With a drink, small bites, a short speech and a guided tour along the artworks.
A special and warm moment, with lovely conversations and wonderful responses.

Installation – Rotterdam District Court
Today, together with Ed, I installed my work at the Rotterdam District Court.
It was a long day, through snow and winter weather, but the work now hangs beautifully and in calm.

Exhibition at the Rechtbank Rotterdam
In the first quarter of 2026, I will be exhibiting my work at the Rechtbank Rotterdam.
The exhibition is shown in the public spaces of the courthouse, where art exists alongside the daily practice of justice. My drawings explore stillness, resilience, and the tension between vulnerability and hope. They leave room for personal interpretation and invite attentive viewing.
The context of the courthouse immediately resonated with me: a place where many human experiences come together — expectation, tension, loss, and relief. It is precisely there that visual art can offer a quiet presence, without judgement, but with attention.

New on mijnie.com: the Broesloe page – featuring Ed’s wooden towels
Broesloe now has its own place on my website.
Ed’s wooden towels may appear casually draped, but they are in fact carefully crafted wall sculptures. They can now be viewed on the Broesloe page.
Each towel is made in a small, limited series and carries his maker’s mark: eddie.
Have a look at the new Broesloe page.

Muster (1/10) – in the collection of Jeroen Kieven
How unmistakable a choice can be.
Jeroen Kieven immediately knew that Muster was the work he wanted to add to his beautiful collection – and that moment stayed with me.
As a watchmaker, Jeroen moves daily within the world of time. Perhaps that is why Muster carried him along so naturally. It awakened something in him that was personal and meaningful.
When I visited his home, I was struck by his personal connection to the works already gracing his walls. It helped me understand more clearly what he sees in Muster – something that may be different for everyone.
Jeroen is a wonderful storyteller, yet he also allows himself to be moved by other stories – including the story that Muster tells in image and in words.
Beautiful to see how precision and feeling come together – in timepieces and in my art.

Gilestine (1/10) in its new place
What a wonderful feeling to, after the exhibition at Guido Rieger where all my works were displayed so beautifully, now walk to the new owner’s home with one of those works – “Gilestine” (1/10) – under my arm.
Until the moment I handed over the work, I had butterflies in my stomach. But then again, this is all still so new to me. How nice that the first new owner is not a stranger to me, and that she gave me such a beautiful first experience of selling my work.
She really made it a special moment.
After a few pleasant hours together, the work was hanging on her bright white wall.
The next works are already scheduled for delivery, and I am really looking forward to that.

In the workshop – Ed makes the frames
In the workshop, Ed Mulder is working on the frames for my drawings. Each frame is custom-made, with care for proportions, finish, and appearance.
It’s special to do this together. His craftsmanship fits seamlessly with my work. Ed is co-founder of Broesloe and creates all the frames for my drawings.
Together, we spent a long time exploring the right shape and proportions. After multiple sessions and prototypes, we eventually found a framing that is in harmony with my work.

Moment
Sometimes you leave something in a place simply because it feels right at that moment.
You don’t do it to be seen, but because it feels true somewhere deep inside.
Not everything brings something back right away, but it’s part of the movement.

Interview in the local newspaper
Today, an interview with me appeared in the local newspaper. Xandra interviewed me about my work, the creative process, and the exhibition. A photographer joined us at the opening to capture the atmosphere.
I'm happy with how it turned out. It feels personal and sincere.

Exhibition opening: a wonderful start
The opening at Guido Rieger was warm, festive, and full of inspiring conversations. People responded enthusiastically to my work, and some pieces have already found a new home.
Many thanks to Guido for providing the beautiful space and organizing the opening. The delicious Cosmopolitans came from Bar Tipsy, a celebration in themselves! I'm grateful for all the kind words, attention, and trust in my work.
The exhibition will be on view and for sale until mid-July at Guido Rieger, Benthuizerstraat 53A in Rotterdam.
Feel free to drop by if you're in the neighborhood.

New Artwork: Orasyn
My latest artwork has been named Orasyn. This piece explores the threshold between burden and liberation. It symbolizes a transitional period: still connected to what was, yet already moving toward a greater reality. Energy and awareness are growing, but the past still leaves traces. More details about this piece coming soon!
